By the end of 2020, an estimated 20,168 Australians should have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Due to the impact of COVID-19, 70% of those will go undiagnosed.
A significant reduction in the number of new breast cancer diagnoses has been reported both nationally and internationally during 2020, because of the response to COVID-19. Delays in cancer referrals caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing shutdown in cancer services will lead to thousands of additional deaths and tens of thousands of life-years lost.
Our mission: stop these numbers from increasing any further. By mobilising teams of change-makers, we’re working on making self-examination front of mind; check-ups easy to access; and support abundant. And we need your help.
